Kerpoof! Has been mentioned here before. While prepping for a PD on the site I was reminded of the depth of options and thought it warranted a second post. (And I wanted the links handy for my training) So here goes:
Kerpoof! is a site where children can create things. The simple things they can do include paint and draw. Moving up the scale of complexity they can also create eCards and story books. Finally they can create animated movies complete with sound effects, weather and transitions.
I like the fact that Kerpoof! supplies teachers with a step by step tutorial which will allow them to become familiar with the tools available. They also have some lesson plans available that make a fun website an educational one! Finally Kerpoof! allows you to use the site without registering for it, lowering the age and skill level needed to get started. (A registration, which includes a valid email, is needed if you want to SAVE your work and return to it later).
I’ll be working with Kerpoof! tomorrow and I am sure the folks with whom I am working will have a great deal more to add at the end of the day. What are YOUR favorite ways for kids to create art, stories and media ?
