Next time you need to create groups with your students try the random image group generator in SMART Notebook. It is easy to get pictures of your students using either your document camera or any digital camera. You can take pictures of your students in a line of 4 or 5, then use the SMART Notebook Capture Toolbar to capture just your student’s faces like those below. Once you have the individual faces of your students you can click and drag them into a blank square on the Random Image Group Generator. To find this Group Generator search Random Image in your SMART Notebook Gallery. It will be under the interactive and multimedia section. Now you can select the number of groups you would like to create and click generate! You can inject the color coded groups of student tiles into the notebook file to more clearly define roles and provide more distinct organization to the groups.
