I’m happy to report that JCPS and CES are experimenting with opening up certain previously blocked web sites and services for teacher use. The micro-blogging platform twitter is one site you have probably heard a lot about and likely not known how it could help you as a teacher.
1. Check out this blog post for one idea of how to get started with this resource.
2. Build an account. It takes five minutes!
3. Start following people. Here are a few people to start with, but build up your own ‘Personal Learning Network’ of professionals you enjoy sharing resources with and know what they are up to. You can also follow famous historical figures like Ghandi and Einsten (or rather historians posting as them).
4. Have fun and learn lots!
